Rachel’s experience with yoga began in childhood when her father took her to Iyengar classes in Santa Monica. As an adult, she began an Ashtanga practice and studied with Sri K Patabi Jois in India. She later became certified to teach Kundalini Yoga. Around the same time, Rachel began studying with Linda Lack, a yoga therapist, and she is in the process of being certified to teach her technique of yoga therapy called “the thinking body, the feeling mind,” which combines the art of dance, yoga and kinesiology.

When Rachel realized she wanted to use her skills as a yoga teacher to help people, she completed Yoga For Youth training and set out to teach youth at risk. She also had a desire to teach veterans. Rachel studied to be a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, knowing the information would enhance her mind/body approach to teaching.
Rachel uses the techniques found in yoga and Somatic Experiencing to help students learn to unlock their own blocked energies, which are the root of imbalances. Through conscious breathing, body as well as sensory awareness, and movement, Rachel guides those she works with to greater physical, emotional and mental harmony.
