Core Team – Sherisa Dahlgren, LMFT


Sherisa Dahlgren is a licensed marriage and family therapist in California with specific expertise in integrating arts and holistic modalities into the healing of primary and secondary trauma. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at San Jose State University and has built her professional career with a strong focus on somatic therapies, including yoga, breathing, mindfulness and movement, as well as applying these techniques to strengthen naturally existing, healthy coping skills in young children and adults. A dynamic speaker on empowerment-based approaches to healing, Sherisa provides experiential trainings nationally for organizations on wellbeing strategies for vicarious trauma, creating sustainable work practices in under-resourced environments and holistic approaches to healing from trauma.  Sherisa currently serves as the National Clinical Consultant at the Joyful Heart Foundation, where she is leading their research with Georgetown University on an evidenced informed retreat model serving survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
